Hi, I am Christine. I am a poet, a scientist, a mother, and a lover of our natural world and animals. I have always loved this earth. From the time I was a child growing plants, caring for animals, and playing in the dirt has just been natural. My love for nature grew even more when I went to college and got a degree in plant and soil science. For almost 20 years I worked as a forest soil scientist and continue to work as an environmental consultant today.

For the past 30+ years I have been drawn to a spiritual practice and studied with spiritual teachers. Besides meditation we were encouraged to write and develop a practice of self-inquiry. Through the practice of self-inquiry and meditation I have developed a writing style that helps me stay connected to my heart even when facing conflict or the chaos of these times.

Like you, I am concerned about how the planet is changing and how to be with those changes. My spiritual teacher, Leslie Temple-Thurston would tell us you can only go as high as you can go low. The more I allow myself to feel the heartaches of these times the more my heart opens to the simple beautiful wonders and joys of being alive. Tending to plants, walking the dog, or watching the fog lift just as the first rays of sun brighten the morning all land beautifully in my heart space. My love affair with the earth and its beings has come alive in my writing.

In 2017, I published my first book, My Two Mothers, A Collection of Poetry and Prose where I explore my healing journey with my mother and our natural connection with our earth mother. Where Everything Wild Has a Home, Wild Poems is my latest book and my invitation to you to go deeper into your own wild heart.
